Spotting directions Ramstein Air Base

Okay the Wolfhounds aren't at Ramstein AB anymore but there is still a lot to see at the base. Beneth the spotting places of the base.

Ramstein Air Base(ETAR/RMS)
1. 08 Landing
The 08 landing offers opportunities for photos and serials. The position is situated near the main entrance of the base. When you are coming from the A6 Autobahn, take the exit "Air Base". At the traffic lights turn North towards the air base. Follow the sign Air Base to the right before you reach the road tunnel, and turn right again. Now you are driving on the old spare runway. Turn right at the round-about and park your car here. You can walk to the gate in front of you, or, as it can be in use, walk the foot/cycle-path at your right till you are at the approach end of runway 08.
2. 26 Landing
The 26 landing is OK for photos and serials as well. From the A6 Autobahn take exit "(Kaiserslautern)- Einsiedlerhof". Go to the North side of the motorway, where you reach a round about, which you cross (straight ahead). Shortly after that you will see a road side flower shop. After this flower shop you have to take the first road to the left, but this is officially not allowed. If you drive into that road, after a left bend to the right you reach the approach end of runway 27. Find a spot on the left in the clearing. Chances are the Polizei will send your car away, so you have to park at the flower shop and walk the rest.
3. Kindsbach hill
An additional position for serials of the aircraft parked on the platforms. All aircraft can be read from here with a 60x pole, C-17s and C-5s are no problem with 30x. South of the A6 Autobahn, in the village of "Kindsbach", at the main street, look for an Italian restaurant "Da Toni". Opposite this restaurant there is a street called "Steigstrasse" (Climbing Road). After the last house there is a little round square. Park your car here and walk into the path on your right, passing an open barrier and right again. After a few meters there is an open spot where you can oversee the base. But it gets better if you are willing to climb a little. Follow the path until you see a bench at your left side, a little higher than you are walking. Go uphill here, there is a very small path that leads to the spot above the red-sand quarry on your left. The perfect view over the airbase is the result.
4. Bismarck Turm
To complete the serials of the aircraft parked on the platforms you can visit the Bismarck Turm in Landstuhl. In the village of "Landstuhl", South of the Autobahn/Air Base, follow the signs "Bismarck-Turm" in the centre of town, park at the end of the unpaved road and walk to the tower, climb it and you will see the base.
5. North side
In case of bad weather or if you are out of good binoculars you can visit position 5. This is on the North side of the base and offers a view of the tails of the large transporters on the platform. To get there continue the L373 into Ramstein-Miesenbach, turn right at the roundabout. Park your car at the parking lot of the Azur swimming pool and walk from here towards the fence.
